Stefan Botnar, Romania

On Friday, Sept. 10, we received an e-mail from a Romanian pigeon fancier Stefan Botnar. He and his family live in Brussels and put pigeons in one-horse races in Romania. He informed us that he had bought a pigeon from us in 2018. This was a hen, the NL18-295, the ‘Algarve Fighter’, which became 6th Ace Pigeon in the AGD 2018, with a 57th place in the final against 1,244 pigeons. This happened during our very first trip to Portugal and where we met Jos and Peter Nijman, among others. That experience was one never to be forgotten! And then you sometimes think, ok, that pigeon has been sold abroad, will you ever hear from it again? Yep so, Stefan reports us that a daughter from the ‘Algarve Fighter’, which was paired against a German finalist of the AGD 2016, achieved a top result in the Race Vadu Volovat in Romania. The hen named ‘Miss Della’ flew a 3rd place in the final final race against 1,012 pigeons. Click here for the results. Certainly not a giveaway this race over 445 km, where this hen achieved a speed of 1123.56 mpm. A speed for which our pigeons are excellent. And in the semi-final she flew a 28th place against 1,094 pigeons over 360 km. The mother of ‘Miss Della’ involves the pairing ‘Fanger cock’ x ‘Shannon’. Unfortunately, the Fanger cock, originally purchased from the Fanger family in Badhoevedorp, is no longer among us. But, Shannon, that name does come up a lot in references . Wasn’t it “Jens” x “Shannon” every time?

Thomas Hullegie is a top performer in afd.10 specializing in Day long distance. Earlier this year he came to us looking for a nice pigeon to breed from. From a basket he immediately picked out NL20-1382451. This ended up being a hen out of SOK 122 x Denise. SOK 122 is in our eyes the successor to the great sire Mr. Veenendaal who unfortunately no longer fertilized as of this season. Paired against Denise, one of the best breeding hens known to our loft, grandmother of the ´TGV´. So a collector’s item this hen, because offspring from ‘Denise’ will not leave the yard anymore! Furthermore, he also bought a grandson of the ‘TGV’, out of ‘Blueliner’ x ‘Nairobi’. This is one of the first pairings offered at GPS with a grandchild from “TGV. Equal success with a young pigeon flight from Weert, 7th against 1378 pigeons. Thomas hopes this is definitely just the beginning of the “Kramer” crossovers.

Chris van Ginkel last season 2020 saw his top cock the ’64’, ‘Little Luc’ become the best dayfond pigeon of the Netherlands over two years from the Fondspiegel. A unique achievement for this young and enthusiastic enthusiast from Ede. He lives in Ede with his wife and three children. There are two lofts in the oblong garden, plenty of room for young and old pigeon play. Chris’ heart is in the one-day long distance, it was a dream come true for him last year. He visited with the ’64 last December and asked if we were interested in breeding together. Sure, with such a unique cock we certainly want to cross with our kind for a few months. During the winter, the ’64’ was paired against ‘Golden Sanne’, a sister to the ‘TGV’ and ‘Nairobi’, a daughter of the ‘TGV’ x Verkerk (Gobel). And see here a first result on Chris van Ginkel’s loft.

Chris Weber was able to secure ‘Algo Trader’ – NL19-1549257 – M – last year. A cock that flew 35th place over 420 km in the final of the AGD 2019. That is the father of 2 youngsters in Chris Weber’s loft, the ‘474’ and the ‘473’.

The ‘Algo Trader’ comes from the pairing ‘Jens’ x ‘Shannon’, which produced 4 successful pigeons. ‘Algo Trader’ and two hens ‘Summer Chique’ 10th Nat.ace young all-around WHZB-TBOTB 2019 and ‘Summer Vibes’ 2x 1/100. And a cock successful on our racing loft ‘Short Seller’, NL19-1549593, with best result NPO Issoudun 11/3105 = 60/9488 = 96/34214 in 2021. What a top pairing, Jens x Shannon.

Jon Siemons is a clubmate of ours and the builder of our cock racing loft. Jon has purchased a number of pigeons from us through the annual GPS auctions in past years. He is particularly fond of ‘De Havik’ line, our old red variety that provided super performances in the late 1990s/early 2000s on the loft of F.S. Kramer & Zn. But he is also very appreciative of offspring from the ‘Jens’ line, which we ourselves can only underline. ‘Bakero’, son of ‘Jens’ x ‘Jasmine’ won a 1st NPO Fontenay in 2019. Among Jon’s leaders we find 50% Kramers. We hope he can continue this line with the youngsters this season.

Colinda is a clubmate of ours and she has brought her flight team to nest. And not without success! Nest play is not unknown to the Brugemann family, overnighters at heart, but Colinda prefers the day long distance. She purchased some pigeons from us through the GPS auctions. Purchased through the annual GPS auction. ‘Denton’ is 2nd NPO winner Chatearoux 2016, behind 1st NPO winner Chateauroux 2016 ‘Juno’. And the ‘Strong Lady’ has been added to the growers in 2019. Mother of ‘Pepper Pot’, 3rd youngster afd.6 NH all-round 2019 and more recently from mother of ‘Phoenix’, NL20-1383312, who flew a 9th NPO Issoudun against 3,105 pigeons in our loft. Martijn Wessels let us know that he has 3 youngsters out of this hen and that he is super satisfied with his purchase.

‘Cherry Picker’ and ‘Son Blueliner’ together form the ‘Blueliner’ brothers. Both Intertext pigeons, of which ‘Son Blueliner’ is currently 4th candidate Olympiad pigeon cat. C, Team A Long Distance 2019-2020 state.

Marcel lives in Wormerveer. He got this hen as an egg from us in 2020. He has 1 flying child of the ‘Cherry Picker’ in his flying team.
